plz tell me the advantages of SQL*Net/Net8,why SQL*NET/Net 8 is necessary.

Hello Mr.Frank,
i've read the article,
but still doesn't do any good for my problems..

well.. i've got a problem with setting the listener..
i use net8 assisstant.. to configure it..
i've edit the tnsnames.ora and listener.ora like the formal example given.. (with modification of course) ..
i've tried to connect with TCP/IP, IPC, Named Pipes.. but no result..
still error..

Please! Help me..
i'm desperately asking your help
please please :((

Good day,

Can you give me some background on this issue? We need to determine what
the possible causes are:

Things to look for:
First. Can you ping the other machine? That's to say is your Network
working? Is TCP/IP working for you?
Name resolution?

What is the error and what are you trying to do?
