Hi friends,
I have a very weird problem. I am using 9i forms at home and every time whenever I compile the form and try to run it, it gives me error: “FRM-30087: Unable to create form file C:formstest.fmx.” But as I save it with new name, for first time it runs perfectly but next time when I make any changes and compile it and then try to run it, it gives me the above error. Can anyone tell me why??? And what is the solution.

It is an OS write error. Apparently, you've got the write rights, but not modify rights on the directory. Check your settings. Another possibility might be that you keep the file open in another application (Forms Runtime?) which prevents the file to be overwritten.

Be sure that you are exiting out of the form, rather than just closing the window.

Thanks guys, it worked. Is this the problem of 9i or this was also in previous version? I never faced this problem before. I have worked on 4.5 and 6i.

I didn't figure that one out myself, to be honest. In our Forms6 development environment we don't have any problem with it, but I have seen it more than once at some other locations.
